This is a project of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Madison County, in collaboration with the Northeast Hop Alliance. Our goal is to locate feral hops across the Northeast for research purposes, in hopes of finding heritage hops with unique characteristics that are interesting and pleasing to brewers. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP... Download the iPhone or Android app and take your smart phone on your next hike. If you spot hops, use the app to take a GPS reading and a photo to report your sighting. No smart phone? No problem! If you have a GPS unit, record the position. If you have a camera, take a picture. If you are just there, remember where you were. When you get home, use the web form to pinpoint the location on the map and upload any photos. Be sure to include your name and Email address in the report. At our NeHA Annual Meeting, we will draw the names of several of our "Hops Scouts" for some great prizes from NYS breweries. When submitting a report, please title it with the name of the town and the date in mmddyy format.
